There are two species of gorillas say the eastern gorillas and western gorillas that live in the equatorial Africa. Gorillas live in family groups of usually 5 -10, but mostly 2 or more than 50 led by a dominant adult male, silver black who holds his position for years.

The bonding between the silver black and his females forms the gorilla social life. Female gorillas become ready for mating at around 7 – 8 years old but don’t begin to breed until a couple of years later. While the male (silver black) gorillas mature at a greater age. females

These are gorillas that live in forests in mountainous areas with heights of 8,000 – 13,000 feet. The world’s smallest population of mountain gorillas is a subspecies of the eastern gorillas.

These Gorilla species are sub divided into two and it has been debated by scientists that they might be only two separate subspecies. Most of these mountain gorillas live in the extinct volcanic mountains for example in the Virunga mountains ranges on the borders of Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda. The rest can be located in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.

In Uganda, Gorillas are found at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP) which is located in the Southwestern region in Kanungu district in Uganda, is the leading gorilla reserve Center in Uganda which is part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and is situated along the Democratic Republic of the Congo border next to Virunga National Park and on the edges of Albertine Rift valley.

It is composed of 321 square kilometers and (124 sq m) are of both mountain and lowland forest and its only accessible on foot. it’s known as the Uganda’s most spectacular conservation area. It is composed of 400 plant species ,120 mammal species with apes like baboons,gorillas, chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys as well as elephants and antelope family, 350 birds life ,1000 flowering plants ,104 fern species ,200 species of trees ,23 Albertine Rift Endemic species. Bwindi National Park is a UNITED NATIONS EDUCATION SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATION  Heritage site that lies between altitude 1160 and 2607 meters above sea level.
