The entire Gorilla population presently stands at 1,063 members, with 459 of them located in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, according to the most recent Gorilla census in 2018. The Virunga mountain ranges, shared by Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as well as Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, are home to more than half of the world’s mountain gorilla population.
